Ibiza house deal and €2m-plus council deals face scrutiny

In Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza, the Socialist Party (PSOE) is seeking a special council meeting on 23 October 2026 over deputy mayor Miguel Tur’s house purchase and more than two million euros in town hall dealings with firms linked to a business group. It wants to establish whether Tur’s links to a company in the group may have affected council decisions. The request follows reports cited by the PSOE that the company bought the mortgage debt on a home belonging to Tur’s sister in 2024; Tur then bought the home that December.

Questions over the house purchase

The PSOE wants to know when contact between those involved began and what terms they agreed. It is also asking whether talks were under way before town hall decisions involving the company. Its questions include a town hall seizure affecting the property Tur later bought.

Council deals and planning decisions

According to documents gathered by the PSOE, dealings with firms linked to the group total more than two million euros over the past three years. It wants contracts broken down by company, year and case, with details of how they were awarded and paid for.

The party also wants Tur’s role in planning cases and decisions by the town hall’s governing board examined. These include planning permission approved on 4 April 2024 for 16 homes and the acceptance of a land transfer on 15 April 2025. It asks whether officials considered if Tur should have stepped back from decisions and whether legal reports support them.

The PSOE says it has sought access to files concerning the firms for months but has not received all the paperwork. It says that makes it harder to check how the town hall made its decisions. It is calling on the mayor and governing team to provide the records and answer its questions.
