Ibiza car park used by 100,065 vehicles gets upgrade
The public car park on paseo de la Paz in Santa Eulària, Ibiza, stays open when upgrade work starts on 19 October 2026. It was used by 100,065 vehicles from January to September, up 2.8% on the same period last year. Municipal company EMSER XXI will begin the work, Santa Eulària council says.
Contractor Came Parkare Group will replace the entry, exit and payment equipment in a project costing 72,881 euros. A new payment machine on level -2 will accept credit cards. Licence-plate readers are intended to speed up entry and exit, particularly for people with parking subscriptions.
The work is expected to take a week. The car park will remain open, though removing the old machines and bringing the new ones into use may cause occasional disruption.
Further changes are planned after that: new signs, security cameras inside the car park, updated electric-vehicle charging points and a replacement emergency generator. Pedestrian entrances could be restricted to car park users. Once the improvements are complete, the car park will be ready for remote management, with the system also able to accommodate other municipal car parks in future.
