Eivissa, Ibiza: Aid for businesses hit by the heavy rain of 2025 is at the centre of a row on 1 October 2026. The city’s Socialist councillors say approved support has not been put into effect. They want mayor Rafael Triguero to explain what has happened to aid for shops, industrial firms and service businesses.

The dispute comes on the first anniversary of the September storm. The Socialists say the city council claims Eivissa is better prepared for an emergency but has given no figure for what it owes traders affected by the rain.

The group says the council approved its proposal almost a year ago. Socialist councillor Pep Tur accuses the city government of choosing not to carry it out. The councillors are asking what steps the council has taken and how many traders have received direct aid.
