Eivissa, Ibiza: local police file four new reports of suspected illegal holiday letting after an inspection on Sunday. Officers also propose fines in two other suspected cases, supported by witness statements. Those proposals have yet to be processed, the town council said on 27 October.

Home inspections this season

Police have documented at least 159 home inspections this season and filed 25 reports of possible illegal holiday-letting breaches. The total includes Sunday's four reports. Most of the police operations, rather than most of the home inspections, were carried out with the island council.

Taxi checks and patrols

Police also carried out 410 transport checks in Eivissa between 30 April and 16 October. They found illegal taxi services, unauthorised approaches to customers and other possible transport offences. At one summer operation, proposed fines totalled €27,400.

Officers separately proposed fines for two drivers who tested positive for drugs. The town council said police also patrolled busy areas including the Marina, the port and Figueretes, sometimes with a dog unit.
