Ibiza police file 19 reports on illegal holiday lets

Sant Antoni, Ibiza: police file reports on 19 homes over illegal holiday lets, while five more cases remain under investigation. So far in 2026, officers have inspected 76 homes suspected of being rented to holidaymakers illegally, according to Sant Antoni town council.

Tip-offs bring more checks

The council has received 137 reports of possible illegal holiday letting this year, as well as calls made directly to Sant Antoni Local Police. People can also flag a suspected let through the Línea Verde app.

This season, the council has doubled its team of officers who check suspected unlicensed activity and help enforce community rules, known as Agentes de Intrusismo y Convivencia (AIC), from four to eight. Their work includes following up reports of illegal holiday lets.

Fines and other housing concerns

Illegal holiday letting cases can lead to fines of up to €300,000, depending on the offence. In some cases, authorities can also seal the homes involved.

The checks have uncovered possible overcrowding and substandard housing that are not linked to holiday letting. The council passes those cases to the Balearic government’s housing inspection service.
