Mallorca: illegal home and pool torn down on finca

A 100-square-metre illegal home and pool are gone from a rural property on Mallorca after the owners tore them down on 19 September. They also removed an unlicensed storage building of about 40 square metres and now face a fine.
The Mallorca Territorial Protection Agency said the buildings stood on a rural property of less than 2,000 square metres. None had planning permission.
The agency said the home, pool and storage building could not be legalised because they breached planning rules. After the agency stepped in, the owners demolished the structures themselves and paid the cost. Those responsible have also been sanctioned.
