A car flips onto its left side at a junction in Palma, Mallorca, when another driver crosses a solid line to overtake and hits it. Neither driver is hurt in the crash, which happens at about 13.30 on 3 October at the junction of Samil and Martinet streets in the Las Maravillas neighbourhood, Palma’s Local Police say.

The driver of the overturned car was travelling along Samil Street and preparing to turn left into Martinet Street. Police say he signalled, stopped to let oncoming traffic pass and began turning when he saw the way was clear. At that moment, a car behind him, heading towards the Santanyí motorway, moved into the oncoming lane to overtake across a solid line.

The overtaking car struck the front of the turning car. The turning car came to rest on the right-hand verge, while the overtaking car stopped off the road. Both were badly damaged, but neither driver needed medical care. Both tested negative for alcohol.

Police filed traffic offence reports and told the drivers how to make claims through their insurers.
