Ibiza beach police tackle illegal selling 39 times
In Sant Antoni de Portmany on Ibiza, a beach patrol records 39 interventions over illegal street selling during the 2026 summer season. Between June and September, officers identify 410 people and check 187 vehicles. The town council releases the figures on 8 October.
The Local Police beach unit also handles 82 traffic matters. Its other work includes public safety, personal mobility vehicles and breaches of local rules. Officers work with the municipal rescue and lifeguard service and PortsIB.
Police say experience from successive seasons helps them understand problems on the beaches and coast. The council says a steady police presence can deter offences, particularly those that have long been common in tourist areas. Public safety councillor Neus Mateu says visible patrols during the busiest months are intended to prevent problems and respond to issues affecting the coast.
