Balearics industrial prices jump 24.3% in August

Industrial prices across the Balearics stood 24.3% higher in August than a year earlier. The National Statistics Institute (INE) released the figures on Thursday. Across the archipelago, prices have risen 19.7% since the start of the year and 5.2% from July.

Energy posted the sharpest annual rise, at 36.3%. Intermediate goods were up 7.2%, while capital goods increased by 3.2%.

Consumer goods rose 1.3% year on year. Durable consumer goods were up 1.7%, compared with a 1.2% increase for non-durable consumer goods.
