In Felanitx, Mallorca, four new industrial units are going to auction with a starting price of €300,773. Self-employed people and small and medium-sized firms carrying out industrial work can bid from 9 October to 6 November. The units stand in the Son Colom industrial estate.

Each unit measures 199.64 square metres. The Balearic Islands Regional Development Agency (ADRBalears) bought the 1,974-square-metre plot on Puig de Sant Nicolau street and built the units at a total cost of more than €1.2 million. An independent valuation in February set the starting price.

Bidders must describe the industrial work they do. The Balearic Ministry of Business, the Self-Employed and Energy says the auction is intended to help firms struggling to find suitable premises and land.

Son Colom already has 22 businesses employing 261 people. An ADRBalears study says high land prices and a shortage of available plots and units are holding back local industry. For firms hoping to secure one of the new units, bids close on 6 November.
