Balearic inflation: shopping costs loom over trade talks
Inflation is affecting shopping basket prices in the Balearic Islands: economy, finance and innovation minister Antoni Costa meets business groups on Wednesday, 14 October, to hear how rising costs are hitting them. He meets social partners and business representatives at 11.30, then hears from trade and industry at 13.30. The Balearic government says the meetings are intended to establish what the sectors need.
Costa has not committed to new help. He says he will consider whether measures can be adopted and on what terms. The talks follow meetings in April about the economic impact of the escalating conflict in the Middle East, when the government and business groups agreed on 160 million euros in aid.
