78 Balearic firms in insolvency processes by August
Seventy-eight companies in the Balearic Islands had entered insolvency processes by the end of August, a 21.2% fall on the same period last year. The figures come from business information firm Informa D&B’s latest report on insolvencies and company closures.
Seventy-five firms filed for creditor insolvency proceedings, down 16.8%. Two adopted restructuring plans, the same number as in 2025, while one entered a special procedure — an 85.7% drop.
Construction and property lead the cases
Construction and property businesses accounted for 21 insolvency processes, the highest total of any sector. Hospitality followed with 12 cases and trade with 10.
Companies in creditor insolvency proceedings include Frufor SL, which has 41 employees and nearly €8.3 million in sales, and Delfín Loco SL, with four employees and sales of more than €310,000.
710 companies close
A further 710 Balearic companies were dissolved by August, down 1.1%. Construction and property again led the figures with 240 closures, followed by trade with 112 and business services with 103.
Among the largest businesses dissolved this month were Servicio de Radioterapia y Oncología SL, with 30 employees and €4.2 million in sales; Solars Cala Murada SL, with no employees and €1.3 million in sales; and Gestora Projecte Home de Son Morro SL, with three employees and nearly €750,000 in sales.
