Palma: Jewish culture centre reopens on Wednesday

Palma’s Centre Maimó Ben Faraig reopens at 19.00 on Wednesday, 9 September, at Can Bordils. The centre explains Jewish culture. Balearic president Marga Prohens will attend the reopening and speak.

The event will also introduce the Ledor Vador Foundation, led by Ari Molina. Palma mayor Jaime Martínez, Tourism, Culture and Sports minister Jaume Bauzá, and Culture and Sports secretary Pedro Vidal are also expected.

Earlier, at 09.00, Prohens will receive the Festa des Vermar delegation from Binissalem at the Consolat de Mar. Mayor Joan Víctor Martí, councillors and this year’s ‘vermadores’ and ‘vermadors’ will attend. Prohens will give the group gifts, before Martí presents the festival programme and a gift for the president.

Between the two events, Prohens will attend the first parliamentary sitting of the legislature’s final session. Lawmakers will consider a proposal to limit the entry of cars to Mallorca.
