The 4.3-kilometre circuit poses a physical challenge, with the weather adding to it. Espargaró, now a test and development rider for Honda, returns to the RC213V after a crash and injury early this year left him with few laps on the bike.

He says he is keeping expectations realistic. His first task is to get used to the bike again and help Honda as best he can this weekend. After the race, he will return to work developing it.
