Palma plans to create two jobs for women affected by male violence, with one administrative assistant post and one cleaning role. PalmaActiva is due to submit its Proactiva 2026-2027 project to the Balearic Employment Service, known as SOIB, on Wednesday, 9 September. City Council spokeswoman Mercedes Celeste announced the plan at a press conference.

The aim is to help the two women enter the labour market, build financial independence and improve their chances of securing stable work later on.

The project has a budget of nearly €58,000, including more than €57,000 in SOIB funding. The SOIB scheme can cover the full wage costs of employing women who have experienced male violence.
