Mallorca’s July headcount hits 1,513,802 people

Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, has 1,513,802 people on the island at its July peak. Across the island group, the count tops two million on 17 of the month’s 31 days, according to updated figures from the Balearic Statistics Institute (Ibestat).

The institute calls its count of people present the Human Pressure Indicator (IPH). For the Balearics as a whole, it reaches 2,079,618 on 31 July — 29,804 above the peak for the same period last year. The month’s lowest count comes at the start of July, at 1,911,611.

Mallorca’s daily average for July is 1,465,854. Across the Balearics, the average is 2,010,694, up 1.55% from a year earlier. Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, the other Balearic islands, average 203,172, 308,663 and 33,005 respectively.
