Ketamine arrest in Maó as police seize more drugs

Police in Maó, Menorca, have arrested a man carrying separate amounts of ketamine allegedly intended for sale. The National Police announced the arrest on Thursday, 17 September. Officers said the quantity of the drug and the way it was divided led them to suspect planned dealing.

The man is suspected of an offence against public health and has been handed over to the relevant judicial authority.

Over the weekend after the local festivities, officers also ran preventive security operations at several points across Maó. They seized amounts of tusi, marijuana, cocaine and hashish during checks aimed at drug use and small-scale street dealing.

The police have submitted proposals for administrative penalties over drugs found in public places.
