Mallorca knife attack leaves man with neck wounds
On Mallorca, a man needs stitches in an eyebrow and has wounds to his neck after a suspected knife attack at a care centre in Palma late on Thursday afternoon. The National Police say another man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and making threats. Medics treated the injured man at the entrance after police received a call about a fight and a man bleeding.
The injured man told officers he had accused the suspect of stealing from him. He said the man then threatened to kill him, and the two fought. A witness said the suspect concealed a knife in his right hand during the fight and attacked the man three times.
Security staff held the suspect until officers arrived. Police searched him and found a knife with a blade about 20 centimetres long in the right pocket of his jacket.
