Ibiza knife fights reported near squatted premises

Knife fights near squatted premises in Playa d'en Bossa on Ibiza: that is what residents have reported to Vox, which is calling for an immediate response on 6 October. The premises have been occupied since July, and people living in the building say the problems have continued.

According to accounts given to Vox, fights in recent months have involved knives and broken glass bottles. Residents have also reported constant shouting and noise, a build-up of dirt, and a pit bull often roaming nearby without a lead or muzzle.

Residents say movement inside the premises at night has made them suspect illegal activity. Vox’s statement offers no evidence that any such activity is taking place.

Héctor Andrés, Vox’s spokesperson on Eivissa City Council, wants more Local Police officers in the area and action over any breaches of municipal rules. He says the council cannot evict the occupants itself, but should use the powers it has to protect residents’ safety.
