Palma, Mallorca: A landlord faces trial on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, accused of raping his tenant while she lay unconscious on a sofa in his flat. The two had gone out for drinks with the landlord’s brother and sister-in-law, according to the prosecution’s account. They met a couple and invited them back to the flat for wine that night.

After the others left, the woman was unconscious on the sofa because of the alcohol she had drunk, prosecutors say. They allege the landlord raped her. She reported him a few days later. Prosecutors have charged him with sexual abuse and are seeking seven years in prison and €6,000 in compensation.
