Balearic Islands firms pay bills 18.81 days late
Mallorca and the rest of Spain’s Balearic Islands: firms pay bills an average of 18.81 days after the agreed deadline in the third quarter of 2026. Informa D&B published the figures on Friday, 16 October. The delay is 1.18 days shorter than a year earlier, but only firms in Melilla and the Canary Islands pay later on average.
The 18.81-day figure covers the Balearic Islands as a whole, not Mallorca separately. Across Spain, the average delay is 14.17 days.
Hospitality has the longest delays
Across Spain, hospitality firms pay an average of 23.89 days after the agreed deadline, the longest delay of any sector in the study. Industrial firms average 10.28 days. Informa D&B puts the direct cost of late payments to Spanish businesses at about 3,100 million euros; it gives no separate cost for the Balearic Islands.
Small firms pay on time more often
Nationwide, 46% of payments by microbusinesses and 43.5% of those by small businesses arrive on time. The figures fall to 29% for medium-sized firms and 14% for large ones.
Most payments by medium-sized and large firms are late by no more than 30 days: 66% and 81% respectively.
