In Palma, Mallorca, Balearic Parliament president Gabriel Le Senne says there will be no deal in his alleged hate crime case unless the accusation is dropped. He arrives at the Provincial Court at about 10.25 on Wednesday, 28 October, with his lawyer, Marta Castro, for a hearing ahead of a possible trial. Le Senne, who also leads Vox in the Balearics, says he is calm.

The case centres on a parliament sitting at which Le Senne allegedly tore up an image of the Roges del Molinar, women who were victims of Franco’s dictatorship. Parliament was debating the repeal of the democratic memory law for the first time.

A judge ordered Le Senne to stand trial in February 2025. His lawyers and the prosecution appealed some of the judge’s decisions, but the Provincial Court rejected those appeals in June 2025, leaving the trial order in place. If there is no deal, the court must set a trial date.
