Jewellery, electronic items and 40,000 euros were taken from a house safe in Llubí, Mallorca, during a burglary in July. A young man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement. The Guardia Civil says the investigation is still open.
The burglars forced their way into the property and cut open the safe with an angle grinder, according to the force. The owner reported the theft.
Investigators from the Guardia Civil’s Santa Margalida main station traced and identified one alleged offender before making the arrest. Officers have not ruled out further arrests.
