Mallorca: Llull row as Balearic schools still use GestIB
Some schools in the Balearic Islands still use GestIB: the rollout of the new Llull school platform comes under fire in Palma, Mallorca, on 3 November. Opposition MP Carles Bona says schools are having problems and some headteachers have complained about Llull. Education minister Antoni Vera says the rollout is going to plan.
Llull is a platform for school communication and management. Vera says two of its modules are running, another will start next term and the last is due next school year. It will take on GestIB’s main function in the 2027-2028 school year. Bona also says there had been problems with Llull in other regions before the Balearic government decided to introduce it.
The parliamentary session also turns to rules for children aged up to three. Vera says his department is working on a decree setting minimum standards and seeking broad agreement. Joana Gomila, an MP for Més per Menorca, says the sector does not feel heard. Vera rejects that criticism, saying his department has held extensive talks with those affected.
