Mallorca's €20 vouchers: spend €40 on local goods
Mallorca is lining up €20 vouchers for local goods: shops can apply to join the scheme from Wednesday, while shoppers will need to spend at least €40 to use one. The Consell de Mallorca, the island council, announced the plan on Tuesday, 13 October 2026. Its €800,000 fund aims to support shops facing higher energy and transport costs linked to the conflict in the Middle East.
Residents of Mallorca aged over 16 will be eligible for up to five vouchers each, subject to availability. Each voucher takes €20 off a qualifying purchase of at least €40. Shoppers pay the rest.
The scheme covers goods from Mallorca with protected names or geographical labels, products carrying a local-product label, and those with organic certification from the Balearic Council for Organic Agricultural Production, among others.
Applications open on Wednesday for 15 working days. Self-employed traders, companies and cooperatives are among those that can apply if they run authorised physical shops or sales points on the island. The council has not given a date for residents to obtain the vouchers.
