Mallorca: Palma's long-term rental listings fall 2%
Palma, Mallorca, has 2% fewer long-term rental listings in the third quarter of 2026, leaving less choice for people seeking a permanent home. By the end of the quarter, temporary rentals make up 25% of the city’s rental market, according to a study published on Tuesday by property website Idealista. The number of temporary rentals on offer is 10% higher than a year earlier.
The shift extends beyond Palma. Across Spain, long-term rental listings are down 10%. Temporary rentals account for 34% of the rental market nationwide, with their supply up 7% year on year.
Idealista spokesman Francisco Iñareta argues that intervention in the rental market is making homes scarcer where it applies. He said the third-quarter figures do not yet show any declines that housing decrees might have caused.
