On Mallorca, messages mentioning the looting of luxury shops are circulating ahead of a possible Friday gathering in Palma. Regional president Marga Prohens is demanding a large police deployment. Diario de Mallorca reported on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, that the call for the gathering was spreading through a Telegram group.

The gathering is planned for Friday afternoon. The call asks people to keep it peaceful, but other messages discuss responding violently to what they describe as an attack by security forces. It remains unclear whether the gathering will take place.

Speaking in the Balearic parliament on Tuesday, Prohens urged Spain’s Government Delegation to have officers ready to act quickly at the first sign of violence. She wants police to protect shops and security personnel.

Vox spokeswoman Manuela Cañadas had asked what precautions were being taken for Friday. She acknowledged that the information available made it difficult to predict what would happen in Palma.
