Mallorca hotel rape claim: prosecutors seek 10 years

A rape allegation at a hotel in Magaluf, Mallorca, could lead to a 10-year prison sentence: a young woman tells a court that a man forced her to perform oral sex. She gives her account on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, of an alleged attack in the early hours of 27 October 2021. The man denies the accusation.

Her account of the night

The young woman says she went to an aparthotel with the defendant, a friend and others after a night at a nightclub. At the time, she had run away from a centre for minors run by the Mallorcan Institute for Social Affairs. She says she wanted to sleep because she felt unwell after drinking alcohol and possibly having drugs put in her drink.

She says the man began touching her, then grabbed her by the neck when she resisted and forced her to perform oral sex. Later, she called her support worker from the bathroom using the hotel’s Wi-Fi. Someone had taken the SIM card from her phone, she says. The worker alerted the Civil Guard.

Verdict still to come

The support worker told the court the young woman said she was afraid and that someone had tried to rape her. A Civil Guard officer said she did not want to leave the hotel room when officers arrived because she was frightened.

The defendant denies the allegation and says he does not know why she reported him. Prosecutors seek 10 years in prison and €12,000 in compensation. The trial has ended, but the court has yet to deliver its verdict.
