Magaluf hotel rape trial: prosecutor seeks 10 years

On Mallorca, prosecutors seek a 10-year prison sentence: a man goes on trial in Palma on Wednesday, 30 September, accused of raping a minor at a hotel in Magaluf. The hearing before the Second Chamber of the Balearic Islands Provincial Court begins at 10.00.

The girl had fled a centre run by the Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs. According to the prosecution, she accompanied the man to the hotel where he was staying in the early hours of 27 October 2021. She was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Prosecutors allege that the man touched her and, when she refused, grabbed her by the neck and forced her to perform oral sex. They are also seeking €12,000 in compensation.
