Mallorca horse race: Magic Mar wins 35,236 euros

35,236 euros in Palma, Mallorca: Magic Mar and jockey Joan Antoni Riera win Monday’s Gran Premio del Criador 2026 at Son Pardo racecourse. The pair race for the C’as Bombero stable and take the first prize. Pedro Bestard, second vice-president and councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sport at the Council of Mallorca, presents them with the trophy.

Magic Mar and Riera cover the 2,650 metres at a pace of one minute, 14 seconds and 70 hundredths per kilometre. More Mio, driven by J. C. Rotger, finishes second. Mesquinet SP and jockey G. Andreu take third place.

The race is reserved for four-year-old horses bred in Spain. It aims to encourage the breeding of trotters and keep horse-rearing activity going in the Balearic Islands. Eight races take place in the morning, with more events, including the Gran Premio del Criador, on the afternoon programme.
