Mallorca: 65.3 per cent of 171 artists surveyed get no pay for exhibiting their work in public spaces. The new artists’ group Unió de Creadors de Mallorca reported the finding on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. It will give more detail about the survey at its official launch on Saturday.

The group says it wants fair working conditions and decent pay for the island’s visual artists and other creators. It also aims to speak for them with local councils, cultural institutions and the media.

On Saturday, it will publish a set of good-practice principles setting out what it says is needed for a fair relationship between artists, institutions and cultural event organisers.
