Mallorca crime rises 10.4% as sexual offences climb

Mallorca recorded 32,812 criminal offences from January to June 2026, up 10.4% on the same period last year. The island logged more offences than any other in the Balearic Islands. The Ministry of the Interior published the figures on Thursday, 17 September.

Across the archipelago, offences reached 40,494, a rise of 7.9%. Conventional crime increased by 11% to more than 34,000 offences, while cybercrime fell 5.8% to 6,435 cases.

Sexual offences rose 15.2% across the Balearics. Sexual assaults involving penetration increased by 24.6%, while other offences against sexual freedom were up 13.3%.

Robberies involving violence or threats climbed 9.8% to 716 cases. Thefts rose 8.8% to 11,802, and vehicle thefts increased 17.3% to 752. Authorities also counted four completed intentional homicides and murders, alongside 25 attempted cases.

Palma, Mallorca, recorded 18,482 offences, a 9.6% increase. Calvià rose 15.1% to 2,334 cases, while Inca saw a 16.7% jump to 725.

Llucmajor recorded 1,382 offences, up 10.4%, and Marratxí had 1,000, an increase of 8.6%. Manacor's total edged up 0.6% to 1,029.
