Mallorca bishop names new seminary deputy rector

Josep Antoni Guardiola has been named deputy rector of Mallorca’s Major Seminary in one of several church appointments signed by Bishop Sebastià Taltavull. The changes were announced in Palma on 18 September. Andrés David Forero also takes on two parish roles, in Campos and Porreres, alongside becoming deputy delegate for Caritas Diocesana.

Forero becomes parish vicar at Sant Julià in Campos and Nostra Señora de Consolació in Porreres. Danilo de Urzeda takes over as parish priest at Sant Julià while remaining parish priest at Nostra Señora de Consolació.

Juan Bausá will lead five parishes in Calvià: Santa Maria Stella Maris in Magaluf, Sant Juníper Serra in Son Ferrer, Nostra Senyora del Toro in El Toro, Sant Llorenç in Palmanova and Nostra Senyora de Portals in Portals Nous.

Further parish and university roles

Damián Fredes has been appointed parish administrator for Nostra Senyora del Carme in Coll de'n Rabassa, Nostra Senyora del Remei in el Molinar, Sant Antoni de la Platja in Can Pastilla, Sant Ferran in Las Maravillas, Nostra Senyora de la Lactància in S'Arenal and Santa Maria Assumpta in Badies.

Rafael Enrique Maldonado becomes parish vicar for Santa Maria la Major, Sant Domingo and Cristo Rey in Inca, as well as parishes in Selva, Lloseta and Biniamar. Miquel Ramon Campins joins the parish of Sant Francesc d'Assís in Es Pil·larí.

Taltavull has also named Pablo Guerrero chaplain at the CEU Beato Luis Belda University Centre. Francesc Nadal becomes deacon at the Palma parishes of Sant Sebastià and Beat Ramon Llull.
