Mallorca face Eibar in direct promotion clash

RCD Mallorca take a 3-1 win over Las Palmas to Ipurúa stadium in Eibar on Saturday, 17 October. They face SD Eibar at 16.15 in a match between two sides chasing direct promotion from Spain’s second division.

Eibar are level on 21 points with leaders UD Almería, but their seven-match winning run ended with a 3-1 defeat to Real Oviedo. At home, they have won three straight since losing their opening match of the season.

Mallorca, coached by Luis García Fernández, will look to build on their victory over Las Palmas. The race around them is tight: Almería play Real Sociedad B in Zubieta at 14.00, before CD Castellón, one point behind the leading pair, visit Las Palmas at 21.00.
