Mallorca ferry discounts: €6.42m refund approved

Mallorca residents’ ferry discounts form part of a 6.42 million euro bill across the Balearic Islands: on Friday, 6 November, the Balearic government approves that sum to repay Baleària for reduced fares on regular inter-island services from January to June 2026.
The repayment covers two claims: 1.88 million euros for journeys from January to March and 4.54 million euros for April to June. The Directorate-General for Ports and Maritime Transport checked Baleària’s figures and whether both claims met the reimbursement rules.
Each claim exceeds one million euros. That means the Government Council must authorise the spending under the Balearic Islands’ 2025 budget law.
