Mallorca heat warning: 35ºC forecast for Tuesday
Mallorca is under a heat warning on Tuesday as temperatures across broad parts of the Balearic Islands may climb above 35ºC. Low cloud and morning fog banks are also possible. Southerly winds will blow across the islands and the Mediterranean.
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency, AEMET, has placed Mallorca among the areas on heat alert. Valencia and Gran Canaria face the higher orange heat warning, where temperatures could reach 40ºC.
The heat remains high for the time of year across much of Spain, although temperatures are expected to fall in many areas. The east of the country will see little change.
Elsewhere, a front approaching north-west Spain will bring cloud and rain. Galicia and the western Cantabrian coast could see locally heavy, persistent rainfall.
