50 Mallorca hikers cross Menorca’s coast in five days

Fifty Mallorca hikers aged 18 to 30 have crossed Menorca’s southern coast on a five-day trek from Ciutadella to Maó. They followed sections of the historic Camí de Cavalls walking trail, taking in Cap d’Artrutx, Cala en Turqueta, Cala Macarella, Cala Galdana, Son Bou and Cala en Porter. Binissafúller and Punta Prima were also on the route.

The Consell de Mallorca organised the third edition of the trip. Toni Fuster, the island council’s councillor for the presidency, said the scheme had been well received and was intended to give young people leisure options that appeal to them.

The group stayed at the Sa Vinyeta hostel with full board. Sea and land transport, insurance and supervisors throughout the trip were included. Each participant paid €97.86 after the Consell de Mallorca covered 70% of the total cost.
