Mallorca’s rain tops 60 l/m2 in some areas between 14 and 20 October, while the Palma/CMT station in Palma, Mallorca, records 71 mm. On Ibiza, the Ibiza/Es Codolar station logs 234 l/m2. The figures come from Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Rainfall is above the usual level across much of the Balearic Islands, especially in western Mallorca and on Ibiza. Some parts of Ibiza receive more than 200 l/m2 during the week.

The wetter spell extends beyond the islands. Since the start of October, Spain has recorded 51 l/m2 of rain, about 9% above the usual 47 l/m2 for this point in the year. But the rain is uneven: the north-east and Mediterranean coast are wetter than normal, while much of the western Spanish mainland has had less rain than usual.
