On the Balearic island of Mallorca, 92 applicants have passed the selection tests for 84 local police posts: some who qualified will miss out on a permanent place. The Balearic government announced the results in Palma on 5 October 2026. Across the islands, 103 applicants passed for 98 posts offered by 14 councils.

Palma has 50 posts

Palma accounts for 50 of Mallorca’s vacancies. Manacor and Santanyí have eight each, while Calvià has six. On Eivissa and Formentera, five applicants passed for five posts; on Menorca, six passed for nine.

The Balearic School of Public Administration ran the joint selection process. It received 716 applications and admitted 690. Candidates who passed the knowledge and physical tests went on to a psychometric test on 22 July.

A route for those who miss out

Applicants who passed but do not get a post can join a shared pool of temporary officers. Councils can draw on it when they need staff. Since the pool began in 2024, it has placed 70 officers with 26 councils.
