Mallorca’s president Marga Prohens is absent from Tuesday’s parliamentary sitting in Palma, Mallorca, where health minister Manuela García is due to report on patient care. Prohens is travelling to London for the World Travel Market tourism fair with tourism minister Jaume Bauzá and agriculture minister Joan Simonet.

The sitting begins at 10.00 with Javier Ripoll due to be sworn in as a Vox MP following the death of María José Verdú. MPs also plan a minute’s silence for the victims of the train crash at Urda, Toledo, among them a woman from Mallorca. The People’s Party has requested the tribute, and other parties are expected to support it.

Questions to the government will cover the budget, water reserves and housing. García is due to explain how far proposals have been put into practice to improve services for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a nerve disease, in Menorca. She will also report on medical and psychosocial care for people with borderline personality disorder.
