Mallorca storm cancels 10 Palma flights, diverts 12
Storms cancel ten flights and divert 12 more at Palma Airport on Mallorca on Monday, 19 October. Airport operator Aena also reports dozens of delays there since midday.
The disruption reaches the other Balearic airports. By 16.00, Eivissa Airport has five cancellations and one diversion. Three of the cancelled flights link Eivissa with Palma; two link it with Alicante. Menorca Airport also loses a flight linking it with Palma because of the weather in the Mallorcan capital.
The reported total across the Balearic Islands is 12 cancellations and 13 diversions. But the cancellations listed for the three airports add up to 16. Enaire says in a social media post that storm Dana Adam is causing air traffic restrictions for safety across the Mediterranean coast and the Balearic Islands.
