Mallorca storms bring 72 litres to Calvià, 31 at airport
Storms dropped 72 litres of rain per square metre in Calvià, Mallorca, on Friday, 19 September. Palma airport recorded 31 litres per square metre, while heavy rain also fell in Palma during the afternoon.
The State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, said Calvià had the island's highest total. Llucmajor collected 15 litres per square metre, Palma-Portopí 13 and Son Bonet 11.
Rainfall was lower elsewhere on Mallorca. The Capdepera lighthouse recorded seven litres per square metre and Santanyí four.
Eivissa received about nine litres per square metre on Friday after the Pitiusas had been more heavily affected by the storm in earlier hours. La Mola on Menorca recorded one litre per square metre.
