Mallorca tourism: Bauzá joins visitor debate in Seville
Mallorca tourism enters a wider Balearic debate on where visitors go and how they get on with local people: regional tourism minister Jaume Bauzá will attend the Tourism Innovation Summit 2026 in Seville. The forum will also discuss how destinations can offer visitors more to do.
According to the organisers, the talks will examine a shift away from judging tourism by visitor numbers alone. The focus is on creating value, spreading travellers across destinations and making tourism more sustainable for the places they visit. Officials from Andalusia, Ceuta and Castilla y León will join Bauzá. No date has been given for his appearance, and the programme sets out no Mallorca-specific measures.
Cities including Seville, Santander and Pamplona will show how they use data and technology, with particular attention to a platform for tourist destinations called the Smart Destinations Platform (PID). Local representatives will also present projects intended to boost rural areas, including a network of towns centred on food.
