Man crawls under Mallorca bus, causing major jam

A major traffic jam hits Calas de Mallorca, Mallorca, on Tuesday at about 20.00: a man crawls under a public bus on Paseo de Manacor, forcing its driver to stop. Spain’s National Police later arrest him.

Officers find the bus still stopped when they arrive. The man refuses to come out from underneath it. Once they pull him out, he tries to flee and attack them, police say. Officers use force to restrain him.

Witnesses say the man had earlier tried to get into a moving car. He then climbed onto the bonnet of a parked car and used an object to damage its windscreen and chassis. The owner confirms the damage and says she intends to make a complaint. Police arrest the man on suspicion of criminal damage and disobeying an officer.
