Manacor man throws boulder after death threats

A boulder narrowly missed a woman on a terrace at a home in Manacor, Mallorca, after a man allegedly threatened to kill the people inside in mid-August. Policía Nacional officers arrested a suspect last Wednesday, during the early hours of the morning.

Police say the man appeared at the property’s outer fence and shouted incoherent remarks at the homeowner and several women. When he began climbing the fence, the homeowner challenged him and said he would call the police.

The man then climbed back down and allegedly shouted that he would kill the homeowner and the women. Two men arrived moments later, rebuked him and apologised to the homeowner before leaving with him, police said.

Minutes later, someone threw the large rock towards the terrace, where the homeowner and the women were standing. It almost struck one of the visitors.

Manacor’s Policía Nacional judicial police identified the suspect days later but initially could not find him, placing him on a wanted list. Officers from the force’s local public safety unit later found and arrested him.

He is suspected of attempted unlawful entry into a home and making serious threats, police said.
