Mallorca bus in Manacor: PP urges removal over drug claims

The PP in Manacor has called for an abandoned bus to be removed immediately from Palma Street in Manacor, Mallorca, saying it has become a place for drug use and dealing, rubbish and insecurity. The vehicle has been left on the public road for more than three months, according to the party. Its Manacor candidate, Jaume Mut, made the demand on Wednesday, 16 September.

Mut said the Town Hall had allowed the situation to continue for months without finding a solution. He said people should not have to live with rubbish, insecurity and such incidents while the council looks the other way.

The party wants the municipal government to act against the company that owns the bus and to carry out a thorough clean-up of the surrounding area. It has also requested a stronger Local Police presence there as a preventive measure.

Mut said the situation in Palma Street could not be dismissed as minor, arguing that it was affecting tranquillity and life across an entire neighbourhood.

The PP said other abandoned vehicles, some large, were also standing elsewhere in Manacor. It called this a sign of poor response and planning by the current municipal government, and said street order, maintenance and care would be priorities in its programme for the 2027 municipal elections.
