Oliver has been mayor since 2019. He is expected to explain his decision and announce Montero as his successor at a 12.00 press conference at the town hall on Tuesday. Montero, 31, will lead Manacor for the closing stretch of the current term. He plans to stand at the next local elections to try to keep the job.
