Maó drug bust: three arrested over secret car stashes
Three men are arrested in Maó, Menorca: police find ecstasy, tusi, cocaine and cannabis hidden in their car. Officers stopped the vehicle at the junction of Calle Colarsega and the road to Fornells late last week, according to the Balearic Islands headquarters of Spain’s National Police.
Behind the car radio, officers found a compartment that opened mechanically. Another hiding place sat beside the steering wheel. Drugs found there and among the men’s belongings had been divided into individual doses for distribution.
The search turned up around 60 grams of ecstasy tablets, 40 doses of tusi, around 15 grams of cocaine and cannabis. Officers also found about 2,200 euros in assorted banknotes, a precision scale, an electric grinder, a sieve, flavourings and chemicals. Police arrested the three men on suspicion of an offence against public health.
