Maó Vox protest: woman hurt as police charge crowd
Maó, Menorca: a 32-year-old woman is taken to hospital during a protest against Vox leader Santiago Abascal on Friday night, as National Police officers charge at demonstrators to clear the area. She is treated for multiple bruises at Mateu Orfila Hospital, the Menorca Health Area says.
Between 200 and 300 people had gathered against Abascal’s presence. After his political event ended, protesters were packed near the square where it had taken place. Police sources say officers charged to clear the area. The reports do not establish how the woman was injured.
She was discharged at about 10.00 am on Saturday, 24 October. No one was arrested.
