Mallorca marijuana raids: five arrested in Palma
Mallorca: police shut down two flats suspected of selling marijuana in the Foners neighbourhood of Palma, Mallorca, on Monday afternoon. Five people now face drug-trafficking allegations. Spain’s National Police say they arrested three men and two women.
The flats’ doors stayed open for almost the whole day, with a steady flow of buyers, according to the Balearic Police Headquarters. Investigators say each flat received only the amount of marijuana it expected to sell that day, so police would not find a large stock if they searched it.
Officers arrested one suspect at a flat on Monday. They found the other open but empty. Police also found cash, marijuana, items used to sell and distribute drugs, and a machete. During the week, they tracked down and arrested the four remaining suspects. All five are accused of drug trafficking.
